The Aviation English Course is available to participants who have successfully completed the Preparatory Aviation English Course or its equivalent (e.g. people having demonstrated experience as a pilot or an air traffic controller). The course has been designed for mixed mode delivery and comprises 125 hours of learning, of which 75 hours are computer-based and 50 hours classroom-led. Student learning is assessed informally through course participation, permanent evaluation, classroom and homework based tasks, online testing, and formally through an exam at the end of the course. By the end of the course participants should be ready for the Radiotelephony Course. All our Aviation English classes are taught by (near) native linguists with an academic background in language teaching and several years of communicative language teaching experience with adults. The teachers work closely with pilots and air traffic controllers to guarantee aviation content-based language, which provides a true aviation and communicative language-learning experience.
