If you are converting a non-JAA ATPL the number of ground and flight tests you need to complete depends on your experience. The aim of the license conversion theoretical knowledge course is to train pilots to the level of theoretical knowledge required for the issue of a JAA Air Transport Pilots License. There is no maximum time allowed specified for completing this theoretical knowledge course.

To be able to enroll in this license conversion programme, you must:

• Hold an ATPL issued in accordance with ICAO Annex 1
• Have sufficient knowledge of the English language
• Have sufficient knowledge of mathematics and physics
• Hold a valid multi-pilot type rating

To complete the approved course correctly, you are required to study all course textbooks, practice sample questions from our extensive ABACUS ATPL question bank and complete all online progress checks. The course notes are in separate volumes to match the examination subjects. Each subject consists of several parts or chapters, which are in accordance with the theoretical knowledge syllabus for the ATPL(A).
